VH1 Announces Divas Lineup

Diva? Really?

VH1 has announced Adam Lambert will host this year’s “VH1 Divas,” the network’s annual tribute to female singers. The live show airs December 16th at 9:00PM Eastern.

Lambert, a vocal phenom who made his name as an “American Idol” finalist, threatens to vocally overshadow the female divas. Scheduled performers include Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks as well as decidedly non-female Pitbull. VH1 says more singers will be announced leading up to the broadcast.

This year’s “Divas” theme is dance music. The show will feature tributes to recently “Divas” alumni, Donna Summer and Whitney Houston, both of whom have passed in the last year. An after-party will be hosted by Jordin Sparks.

“Divas” first premiered in 1998 and is a benefit for VH1′s charity, Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping music education alive in American public schools.

What do you think of Adam Lambert – and Pitbull – as divas? Leave your feedback below.
